My heart races,

I can’t wait to see you.

Thoughts of you fill my mind,

Your face, your smile—so vivid, so real.

I’m almost home.

Baby girl, I’m here.

I find you fast asleep,

Your phone resting in your hand,

As if you had waited for me.

I kneel beside you,

Brushing your hair gently,

Pressing a soft kiss on your forehead,

Then your lips, warm and familiar.

I wrap you in my arms,

Holding you close,

God, I’ve missed you so much.

But then—

Your body crumbles to dust in my embrace.

My chest tightens.

It’s a dream.

Again.

I wake up to the silence,

The weight of reality crashing down.

I had forgotten...

You’re gone.

Goodbye, my love.

But not forever.

You are safe in heaven,

And in my heart,

Always.
